The Farm Power Project

November 21, 2014 Member's News

It aims to bring about a step-change in the uptake of sustainable farm-based energy across the UK.

Project aims

  • Help farmers to fulfil their potential as significant players in energy production
  • Demonstrate the financial value of small and medium-scale energy systems
  • Show that producing food and energy can make your buisness more secure
  • Help revitalise struggling rural communities and support job creation

Who’s involved

Farm Power is a joint project between Farmers Weekly, Forum for the Future and Nottingham Trent University.

The initiative also contains a steering group made up of National Grid, Lely, United Utilities, The Ashden Trust, Esmee Fairburn, Lightsource and Endurance Wind Power.

Endurance Wind Power is a proud supporter of the Farm Power project. Our small scale wind turbines are designed to farm the wind and are the choice of over 600+ farmers, land owners and community groups in the UK.Collectively they are making a difference. Endurance is proud to support Farm Power to highlight what wind can do for you.Renewable energy generation can provide a lifeline for many famers to help sustain and grow their existing businesses – providing stability at a time of great financial uncertainty. Through its work with landowners and farmers across the UK, Lightsource has seen first-hand the many benefits that solar energy can bring to rural communities. The Farm Power project can help spread these important messages and ensure that the full potential of UK farms is realised on all scales of solar power deployment including ground and roof installations.
