Bonn, 7 June 2022 – The REN Alliance is hosting an official side event during the UN Climate Change Conference SB56 which takes currently place in Bonn, at the headquarter of the UNFCCC Secretariat. The theme of the side event will be:
Climate Protection and Energy Security – Two Problems with the same solution: Renewable Energies
The world is facing two crises both related to energy: the climate crisis and the security crisis, manifested in the war in Ukraine. National energy strategies must focus exclusively on all types of renewable sources for achieving low emission energy and energy independence. Experts will shed light on how both crises can be tackled with a strategy that focusses primarily on a full switch to renewable energy.
